Account Executive Resume

An account executive’s position is basically found in advertising agencies and the job of an account executive is to keep a track on the work of art directors and copywriters. They oversee the entire ad campaign. Ad campaigns are created for clients taking into considerations a number of mediums such as online, TV and print. It is the duty of an account executive to make sure that all the departments are working on the same page and imparting the same message as a whole. Account executive resume should highlight all the necessary skills essential for the job.

Account executive need to possess excellent communication and written skills to impart accurate data, statistics and information. They help marking executives to create effective campaigns. Apart from this an account executive should also possess good interpersonal, presentation and time management skills. All of these skills should be effectively mentioned in an account executive resume.

Like most resumes, an account executive resume should begin with an effective objective. The objective is a one or two line description that states why the candidate has chosen the job profile and what the candidate wish to achieve in the near future. The resume sample should also clearly mention all the personal details of the candidate including telephone numbers to contact. This information should be placed right in the beginning for employers to easily access the information just in case the candidate is shortlisted for an interview. 

Although the job of an account executive involves undertaking a lot of responsibilities including visiting potential clients and promote the services through mediums such as trade shows and public relations, they do no supervise the working of the company. Supervision is generally done by the site director.

Qualifications and experience in this filed is a four-year college degree. Most employers prefer experienced candidate for this profile thus a 3-4 years of work experience in this field or relevant jobs prove very effective on the resume.

An account executive resume should highlight the candidate’s analytical abilities. This can be backed with projects the applicant has done to effectively emphasize this ability. The resume should end with a few strengths of the candidate and also a couple of references.

One should note that a good resume tips not only makes the applicant stand out of the crowd but also helps to create a positive impression on employers. Minor spelling errors, grammar errors, and presentation should not be neglected as these could be taken very seriously by employers.
